Experience the Heian aristocrats for a day with immersive storytelling from the Heian period at Saiku Heian no Mori
Inside the Heian facility, wear a flat suit, watch a performance of a ceremonial dance, and enjoy the work, play, and snacks of government officials and women
Meiwa Town, which is close to Ise-jingu Shrine, is known as the town where the princess “Saio,” who serves Ise-jingu Shrine, once lived. Saiku, where Saio, who came from Kyoto, spent his days, now remains a historic site and has been certified as a Japan Heritage Site. At Nishiwakiden, the restoration facility of the historic park “Saiku Heian no Mori” at the site of the Saigu Shrine, you can experience the cultural richness of that time by changing into costumes (hunting clothes, twelve dens) from the Heian period, watching ritualistic dances, and simulated experiences of simple ceremonies, government affairs, and play. This project offers an unexperienced luxury trip through the elegant culture and history of the Heian period. Please enjoy a special moment at the Saiku Ruins and Restoration Facility
